China admits shooting protestors

This item from BBC caught my attention. Not because Chinese police, or paramilitaries, or troops shot at protestors; we already knew that. What caught my attention is that the government admitted it so soon, so quickly. Okay so they say it was done in self-defense; things don't change that quickly. But it is significant that the Chinese authorities realize they can not hide behind not admitting the truth. This is the Internet and YouTube Age. Truth gets out, and gets out quickly. So what the Chinese government is doing is spin-control (Clintonites take note: you should be proud). Whether they can control the spin remains to be seen.

China admits for the first time that police injured Tibetan demonstrators, during a protest near a monastery.
