In a message posted on YouTube on Thursday, Representative Ron Paul acknowledged that he would not be able to win the Republican presidential nomination.
“Though victory in the conventional political sense is not available in the presidential race, many victories have been achieved due to your hard work and enthusiasm,” Mr. Paul, of Texas, said in the video, which clocked in at over seven minutes long.Nonetheless, he said later, he would continue to compete.
“The presidential campaign will soon wind down,” he said. “But we do still encourage all effort to gain the maximum number of votes and delegates in all the remaining primaries and to continue the caucus process that’s ongoing in the other states by loyal volunteers.”
He added that he would continue to campaign in person around the country."
Wait a second! He "acknowledges" he can't win? What an insight. Yet he will continue to campaign -- and, presumably, accept bribes, er, campaign contributions. Oy. This is a guy who wants to abolish the IRS. Yikes! Now, I don't love the IRS, but abolish it? Replaced with what? Anarchic disorder? This guy makes Ronald Reagan look downright logical (and that takes some doing). Oy. What a nutcase.
