A magnificent place in Southern Queens, the Wildlife Refuge is an oasis right in New York City. It's in Jamaica Bay, which lies between the southern border of Queens County and the Rockaway Peninsula. Birds, water fowl and others make their home there. One of the local residents is a pair of osprey that live on a platform constructed for them by the Parks Service.
Now, in late March, spring is evident: a few buds, birds, green here and there. I took some pictures.
