$75

I just paid 4.099 per gallon of gas. When I pulled into the station, parked by a pump, and got out, I saw the previous person to use the pump had paid $75. 75! Yes, it'd been high-test gas, at 4.399 or something, but seventy five bucks!

Still, get these numbers; wow! A dollar twenty higher for Plus, a dollar ten for Performance plus, and only a buck higher for high performance, full server versus credit price, whatever that means. 5.69 a gallon!

On Friday, gasoline prices hit a nationwide average of nearly $3.88 a gallon. The average price of diesel reached $4.65 a gallon. A sign at a gas station in La Jolla, Calif., reflects why many drivers are cutting back.
