Chrysler Building

An interesting piece in this weekend's Wall Street Journal about the Chrysler Building. It really is a fascinating building: it can be called art, whereas most skyscrapers or simply other tall building, the Empire State Building included, are simply tall buildings. The only other building I can think of that has aesthetic beauty is the Woolworth Building.

The first picture is how the Chrysler looked in 1930 (notice the shadow on the lower left). The next image is a picture taken by Margaret Bourke-White in 1931.
