Newt Gingrich is easing off his charge that Sonia Sotomayor is racist, saying it's what she said about the decisions of a "wise Latina woman" that was racist, not necessarily her.

Sonia Sotomayor launched her Supreme Court bid on Capitol Hill and began explaining - and showing - what she meant about being a "wise" Latina. The tour came as Republican leaders insisted right-wing pundits don't speak for them.
